about

Soulful and atmospheric music. With the rare composition of harp, cello and saxophone, the trio consisting of Tine Rehling , Henrik Dam Thomsen and Benjamin Koppel move effortlessly around in a sonorous and adventurous universe. The trio shines in soulful and impressive music and with new arrangements of compositions from classical titans such as Johan n Sebastian Bach and Gabriel Fauré over the works of Anders Koppel and Benjamin Koppel, completely new soundscapes emerge on the horizon. The three musicians break down the usual boundaries the world with an interplay that goes up into a higher unity in the borderland between composition and improvisation. The three musicians are releasing their first release Les Mobiles – check it out!

Tine Rehling and the Harp
The harp has been - and is - a lyrical instrument, the instrument of all who are in closest contact with silence. There is complete silence in the orchestra in the middle of the large orchestral work and there, right there, comes the big harp solo. From another world or as if the harpist is the soloist of silence. Or there are the other possibilities in the classical repertoir e: the refined sound effects, the refined harmonies and figures in works by Ravel and Debussy. Tine Rehling knows both possibilities for harp, she masters all that, it is the aspects of the music that traditionally belong to the essence of the harp. But so does the other, or the opposite, music: she shows how the harp has very special possibilities in the rhythmic element of music. Yes, it can sound like percussion. The harp is not only rooted in poetry and lyricism and in the great romantic wave sounds, arpeggios, as it is called, also when other instruments perform these sounds. The harp also has contact with ancient sounds and dance, in folk music, in the Middle Ages and in ethnic music.

Henrik Dam Thomsen
Henrik Dam Thomsen has since 1999 combined a position as 1st solo cellist in the Danish National Symphony Orchestra with a versatile work as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. He is educated in Copenhagen, London and Bloomington (Indiana, USA), by prominent nam es such as Morten Zeuthen, Torleif Thedeen, William Pleeth and Janos Starker. Thus, Henrik Dam Thomsen is characterized by both the distinguished Scandinavian cello tradition and some of the international cello ’s greatest personalities.
