about

When two of the most prolific instrumentalists of Scandinavia today join forces, one has pay attention. Swedish Steinway Artist Jacob Karlzon is a world-renowned pianist with 13 albums to his name as a leader and impressive collaborations with musicians like guitarist Dominic Miller and vocalists Viktoria Tolstoy and Hanne Boel to his name.

Danish saxophone star Benjamin Koppel, knighted by the
french government, has toured all over the world and has worked with who’s who of international jazz, from Phil Woods to Brian Blade,
Paul Bley to Joe Lovano, Kenny Werner to Chris Potter.

Together these two amazing musicians dive into their musical legacy –classical music from which both have achieved so much musical knowledge and inspiration. And being incredibly talented
improvisers, together they shape completely new music based on small compositional fragments by composers Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Rachmaninoff, Mussorgsky and Mahler. Their musical dialogue is as compositional as it is inventive, as fresh as it is heartfelt. Rarely has a duo performed on such a profound level of reciprocity.
